filia’s new program
With RISE, filia supports self-organized FLINTA groups in Germany that organize activities and services for and with FLINTA people. We received an overwhelming response to the first call for applications, which was open until mid-July: 387 organizations applied. Wow!
Plenty to do for the RISE advisory board
The RISE Advisory Board, consisting of 13 people, reviews and evaluates all applications. The advisory board members contribute not only their professional expertise but also their personal experience—they are committed feminists and represent the perspectives of the target group. Based on the applications and in line with filia’s priorities, they decide on possible funding. In doing so, they ask themselves the following questions, among others:
- Are decisions made by FLINTA?
- Is the target group actively involved in planning?
- Is the offer specifically aimed at FLINTA who experience multiple discrimination?
We are delighted to welcome over 40 new FLINTA groups to the funding program
On the one hand, we are delighted with the huge response to our first RISE call for proposals, as it shows that we have succeeded in reaching groups throughout Germany: with a low-threshold call for proposals, transparency in the criteria, and an accompanying advisory service. At the same time, we know that we can only support a small proportion of all applicants due to limited funds. The high demand for funding also shows that there is still a great deal to be done in Germany in terms of equality for FLINTA people.
Good to know
RISE stands for Resources for Intersectional Solidarity and Empowerment. With this program, filia supports self-organized FLINTA groups in Germany that organize activities and services for and with FLINTA individuals.
The RISE Program is being funded by the Crespo Foundation.
In November, the time will have come. The advisory board members will make their decision and we will inform all applicants. More than 40 new funding partners will then start their one- to three-year funding phases. We are very much looking forward to working with them.
RISE is the continuation of filia’s previous empowerment programs: the Girls Empowerment Program and the Empowerment Program for Women* and Refugees. RISE not only brings together the target groups of both programs, it also adds groups and identities that were not previously specifically addressed. In addition, the new program continues and further develops the participatory work of its predecessors.
