“Providing Primary Education for economically vulnerable girls in Andra Pradesh”
filia has now been promoting the “Vikasini” school for Dalit girls in Secunderabad since 2006. We have been providing funding for the Foundation Natur Mensch Kultur since last year to give basic education to the hundred girls aged between 4 and 14 afflicted with strong social disadvantaging. The prohibition of female child labour and the introduction of regular education for all girls are the goals of the Vikasini Girl Child Education Trust. The Indian Women’s Foundation Nirnaya, which helped to create the school, acts as filia’s re-granting partner for this project.

“Tewa grantee networking and organizational development”
The Nepalese Women’s Foundation Tewa collects funds from local sources for the activities it promotes. It applies to international donors for funding of its own costs. Tewa focuses on empowering women in rural regions. To enable local women’s groups to operate actively and effectively, Tewa supports them with training sessions on leadership skills and organisational capabilities. This training and networking with other active women is often crucial for the sustainability of the groups.
