Transparency is particularly important to us here. The money that you contribute and donate is to be used expediently and be invested sustainably.

Investment policy at filia

filia aims to contribute to more justice for women not only with its project promotion. The way we invest our assets should also help to serve this purpose.
The challenge is particularly great in times of crisis on financial markets. On the one hand it is important to maintain the value of our assets, but on the other we need to earn decent returns so that we can implement our funding activities.
We invest in fixed interest securities, bonds and equity funds, micro credits, sustainable forest funds and company loans and aim to achieve a return of 4% after deduction of all costs.
Although we did not achieve this goal in 2008, with a book value loss of 7% of our roughly 25% equity funds in our total assets we believe we came off lightly in the face of the crisis. Our equity funds are after all long-term cash investments and we expect that they will rise in value again. Especially the micro loans granted above all to women in developing countries have proved to be very crisis-resistant and they match the purpose of our Foundation particularly well.
